Big Year Announcement

When – 12am, January 1st 2023, to 11:59pm, December 31st 2023.
Where – Any and all locations within San Joaquin County
Which birds count – Any species encountered in accordance with ABA recording rules

Reporting – We encourage participants to enter species into eBird, however, recording is on the honor system and can be done by any means an individual may choose
Birding trips – During the year, San Joaquin Audubon will continue to run our monthly birding trips and will also add some specialized trips with Big Year birding in mind
Fee – We are asking participants to pay a $20.00 entrance fee.  This will cover costs for prizes and other expenses.  Fee’s can be paid to Pat Paternostro or any member of the San Joaquin Audubon board
Categories – We will have 3 levels for participants – Advanced, intermediate, and non-county resident.  Participants may choose which category they choose to join San Joaquin Audubon Website – Utilizing our updated website (sanjoaquinaudubon.org), we will share information and photos during the year to enhance participants experiences
Signing up – Participants can sign up by letting Pat Paternostro know via email or in person.  One can sign up anytime during the year, but late starters will potentially be at a disadvantage
