East County

Stockton Sewage Ponds & Wetlands

Do you find the information in this page useful?

Description of the Area
This site, AKA the Stockton Waste Water Treatment Plant, along Highway 4 has historically been one of the premier birding sites in our county, attracting a variety of waterfowl, gulls, and shorebirds. However, this site—its 3 main ponds and adjacent wetland (N of the RR tracks)–is no longer open to birding, except from the periphery (John Turk gate and along the western fence on Port of Stockton Expressway.)
