McDonald Island Fieldtrip
May 31 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Meet at the bridge to McDonald Island at 8:00am. The bridge is next to the Tiki Lagoon Marina. We must cross the private bridge to the Island as a group, so don’t be late. Birding will be a mix of driving and walking different habitat areas. The Island is usually a hot spot for Blue Grosbeaks, Tanagers and nesting Yellow Warblers, but expect the species count to reach the 70s. There’s usually a pot-a-pot somewhere along the route. Bring your on food and drink as we normally eat lunch somewhere along the levee drive. Expect to leave sometime around 2:00 p.m., but you can exit the Island earlier if necessary.
